1. WORKING YOUR WOODEN BOARD
Cut the wooden board with a jigsaw to the desired dimensions. Here, the shelf measures 50 x 20 cm.
Option: round the sides with the jigsaw and a sander.
2. FEED THE WOOD OF YOUR SHELF
Using a worktop oil (colorless vegetable oil), nourish the wood.
Apply 2 coats and sand between each coat.
3. CUT THE LEATHER STRIPS
Depending on the desired height of the shelf, cut the leather strips. The width chosen for our strips is 24 mm, the thickness is between 3.3 and 3.6 mm.

4. OPTION: WORKING THE SLICES OF YOUR LEATHER
Option: work the edges of the leather with a finishing eraser (natural wax) to give them a smooth and shiny appearance.
You have the choice between tokonole, gum arabic or gum tragacanth.
- Apply the product in a thin layer on the edge.
- Wait a few moments, then rub the edge briskly with a cloth or burnisher.

5. MAKE A HOLE AT EACH END OF THE STRIPS
Make a hole centered and at least 1 cm from the edge at each end of the straps. The diameter of the hole should be decided according to the size of the eyelets to be installed (here 11 mm rolling eyelets).
To make a hole in the leather you need to use a round punch and a mallet.
6. INSTALL THE EYELETS
Place the four eyelets, diameter 11 or 12.5 mm (your choice), at each end of the straps. We have chosen rolling eyelets, which come with their installation tool. You can also choose claw eyelets, which do not require any special installation tools.

7. DRILL THE WALL AND SCREW IN HOOKS
Using a drill, drill into the wall. All that's left is to insert a wall plug and a J-shaped screw hook!
8. CHECK SHELF LEVELS
Place the eyelets in the hooks and place the board between the strips. Check the levels.

9. STABILIZE THE BOARD WITH UPHOLSTERY NAILS
Stabilize the shelf using decorative upholstery nails (diameter 11 mm - available on our website).
All that's left is to add decorations or plants, and the hanging shelf is finished!
