NICKEL-FREE

For several years, we have been committed to gradually replacing nickel-plated items with nickel-free items, as some people are allergic to nickel.

NOTE

The finish of leather accessories is done in batches. It is possible that from one series to another, the finish may be slightly different depending on the surface treatment bath. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that the finish of all our items will be perfectly identical.

The materials of our accessories: buckles

Most of our metal accessories have a finish that will beautify them, prevent them from oxidizing, and give them durability over time.
The finish is generally achieved by an electrolytic deposition of a thin layer of metallic material that will give the correct color to your metal accessory.

For metal maintenance, there are cleaners like MIROR that eliminate tarnish and protect against re-oxidation.

FERROUS ALLOYS

STEEL: an alloy of iron and carbon. In contact with humid air, raw steel oxidizes easily (reddish rust).

STAINLESS STEEL: an alloy of iron and carbon with added chromium. Main characteristic: good corrosion resistance.

NON-FERROUS PURE METALS

ALUMINUM: a chemical element resulting from the transformation of alumina (extracted from bauxite). It is a lightweight but strong material. Aluminum is not very susceptible to oxidation; it can oxidize if untreated (white rust which makes it slightly duller).

COPPER: one of the rare metals that exists in its native state. It is a red or orange metal, often alloyed with tin (bronze) or with zinc (brass) to be strengthened. Copper and its alloys have very good corrosion resistance.

NON-FERROUS ALLOYS

BRASS: an alloy of zinc and copper. It is a dense (heavy) metal used for high-end items. When it corrodes, brass is covered with a layer of verdigris (only on the surface).

ZAMAK: an alloy of zinc, aluminum, magnesium, and copper. This metal is strong and has the advantage of being easily molded. ZAMAK accessories generally receive a finishing layer.
