Learn to finish the edges of mineral and vegetable tanned leather!
Edge finishing is often the last step, but also the one that requires the most time and precision.

Price : €60, which includes instruction and use of materials.
Location : at our physical store in Campbon (44), located between Nantes and Saint-Nazaire.
Beginner level : no prior technical knowledge is required. All techniques will be accessible to everyone, except hot edge finishing with an electric creasing iron, which will only be used by the instructor.
Materials and leather are provided.
Our instructor, Anthony Hervy, is a leather craftsman who works with passion and respect for traditions. He will be available to listen to you and answer all your questions.
Program :
- Edge preparation: gluing and using a beveler.
- Hand sanding with an abrasive sponge or with a bench grinder.
- Application of a finish (paint) on the edge of vegetable and mineral tanned leather.
- Focus on the bombage technique.
- Cold finish: glossy finish or beeswax.
- Then a demonstration of a hot finish by the instructor.
- Finishing the edges of vegetable tanned leather with a finishing gum and a slicker: Tokonole, tragacanth gum, and gum arabic.
Spend an afternoon becoming an expert in edge finishing.
