THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT
- 1 piece of vegetable-tanned butt leather - 15 x 20 cm / 1.5 mm
- 1 star-shaped eyelet kit and installation tools / 4 mm
- 1 meter of flat leather cord - NATURAL - 4 mm or a scrap of leather to make the pompom
- 1 jar of Tokonole
- Leather contact adhesive
- An abrasive sponge and a flat surface
- Thread
- 1 cutter
- A 1 mm diameter hole punch (for hand sewing)
- 2 round-tipped saddler's needles (for hand sewing)
1) CUT THE PIECES
Cut 4 pieces of 15x5 cm from your 15x20cm piece of leather.

2) ASSEMBLE THE COMPONENTS
Glue two pieces of leather together with leather contact adhesive.

3) Glue the pieces of leather
Download the pattern and print it at full size. Tape the pattern onto your piece of leather using masking tape.

4) DRILL THE PART
Make the different holes: the 4 mm hole for the eyelet and the 1 mm holes for hand sewing.

5) USE A CUTTER
Cut the leather with a cutter following the lines of the pattern.

6) CARE FOR THE SLICES
Optional: Work the edges of your piece of leather. Sand the edges with an abrasive sponge, then bevel the edges of your leather.

7) SMOOTH THE SLICES
Apply Tokonole to the edge of the leather and then rub with a smoother or a cloth.

8) ASSEMBLE THE PARTS
Sew the piece all around, either with a sewing machine or by hand. For hand sewing (beginner level), please consult our guide.

9) PLACING THE CARNATION
Place the 4mm eyelet in the designated hole.

10) CUSTOMIZE THE BOOKMARK
Thread a shoelace or a pompom through the eyelet hole. Finally, you can add an alphabet marking to your bookmark.
