ADVICE
1. PRINTING THE PATTERN
- Print the pattern. This one was created for a 17.5 x 10 cm pouch.
- Cut out the pieces.
2. TRANSFER THE TEMPLATES TO THE LEATHER
- Using the silver pencil, transfer the templates onto the back of the natural vegetable tanned leather scrap (split side).
- Cut out the pieces using a rotary cutter and a ruler.
3. STAIN THE LEATHER WITH OLIVE OIL
- Using a large brush, soak the leather with olive oil.
- Apply at least 2 coats, trying to apply the same amount of oil everywhere.
- Let the oil soak into the leather for at least a day, if possible in front of a window.
4. WORK THE UPPER SLICES OF THE HALF MOONS
- Using gum tragacanth, work the upper edges of the half-moons and the edges of the tabs with gum tragacanth.
- Sand the slices with an abrasive sponge (medium fine).
- Apply the tragacanth using a rollerball pen, brush, awl, etc.
- Wait a few moments then rub briskly with a cloth.
Gum tragacanth is used to smooth the edges of leather and give them an antique appearance in addition to waterproofing it.
5. POSITION THE ZIPPER AND SEW IT
- Using 5mm double-sided tape, position the pieces on the zipper, tucking the ends in a little. Place the two tabs at each end of the zipper. Make sure the two pieces are facing each other so there is no misalignment. Stitch carefully.
6. SQUARE THE SLICES ON THE FLOWER SIDE
- Break the sharp edge of the leather (grain side) with a sharpening tool (Size 2).
7. SEW THE MAIN PIECES TOGETHER
- Sew the half-moons, taking care that there is no misalignment.
8. WORK THE SLICES
- Using gum tragacanth, work the slices of the half-moon pocket.
- Sand the slices with an abrasive sponge (medium fine).
- Apply the tragacanth using a rollerball pen, brush, awl, etc.
- Wait a few moments then rub briskly with a cloth.

9. APPLY THE TATTOO AND TWO COATS OF GLOSSY TOPCOAT
- Moisten a sponge and wet the tattoo thoroughly.
- Moisten all the leather to avoid streaks.
- Using a brush, apply 2 coats of protection – Eco Flo Super Shene.
10. THE LITTLE EXTRA
- Moisten a sponge and wet the tattoo thoroughly.
- Moisten all the leather to avoid streaks.
- Using a brush, apply 2 coats of protection – Eco Flo Super Shene.

J’ai bien reçu ma commande N 35880411 du 16 Aout et vous en remercie.
Je souhaiterai une peau de veau ou vachette de couleur mieux harmonisée avec les peau imitation croco dorsale fauve code LPA59FAUVE075.
La peau commandée de veau Astar camel code DBV02CAMEL065 ne convient pas.
Que me proposez vous ?

Bonjour est-il possible de réaliser cette pochette sans machine ? ( au niveau de la fermeture éclair)… Car j’ai commandé pour Noël une machine à coudre (tissu) SINGER “prelude” et je pense qu’elle n’est pas compatible avec le cuir malheureusement…. merci d’avance. Bonne après-midi.
Et autre question ^^ quel type de tatouage avez-vous utiliser ?

Bonjour Chantal,
Voici quelques points essentiels pour la couture du cuir à la machine :
1- si vous n’avez pas une machine professionnelle spéciale pour la couture du cuir vous ne pouvez pas choisir un cuir trop épais (au risque d’abîmer la fleur du cuir et votre machine). Nous vous conseillons donc de sélectionner des cuirs fins et souples (maximum 1,2 mm d’épaisseur)
2- La bobine de fil : privilégiez du fil polyester de diamètre 0,43 ou 0,45 mm.
3- nous vous préconisons d’utiliser des aiguilles machine spécial cuir : aiguilles avec une pointe tranchante de taille 80 à 100.
4- Pied de biche téflon / anti-adhésif : pour entraîner plus facilement votre pièce de cuir et avoir des points réguliers.

Comment coudre du cuir avec la machine à coudre ?
Est ce que c’est difficile de poser des rivets sur un sac ?
Faut il des outils pour les poser ?
