Description

FINISHING ERASER FOR VEGETABLE TANNED LEATHER

Gum tragacanth , also called tragacanth , is obtained from the dried sap of a shrub species in the Astragalus family.
This natural tragacanth gum will allow you to smooth the edges of natural leathers or colored leathers that have been vegetable tanned.
In addition to waterproofing the edge, gum tragacanth will give an antique appearance to the edges of the leather.

Instructions for use (see video) :
- Shake the bottle well before use
- Apply the product in a thin layer to the edge/slice using a brush or applicator pad, wait a few moments, then rub the edge briskly with a cloth or burnisher. The tragacanth dries and warms up depending on the friction caused, the edge will darken and shine
- Repeat the operation until you obtain the desired smoothness.
- Clean tools with soap and water

You can also use tragacanth gum on the crust side of a downy leather (mineral or vegetable tanned) to glue the fibers.

Tip : Tint the tragacanth gum with water-based dye (see video).

What is the difference between gum tragacanth and gum arabic?
Gum arabic and tragacanth are obtained by the same process but are not derived from the same sap. Unlike gum tragacanth, gum arabic is water-soluble, which explains why gum tragacanth is much more liquid. Both gums are applied in the same way, with gum arabic producing a slightly darker result.

Color: Neutral, but will brown upon application

Leather Deco Info : Small flakes may form in the product, without affecting its quality. They dissipate during application.

Made in the USA
Product not dangerous if inhaled because there is no solvent present
