Leather Carving Level 2 Training: Advanced

For one day, come and perfect your leatherwork with the carving technique. To access this training, it is recommended to have completed the Level 1 "Beginner" training.

Location: at our physical store in Campbon (44) located between Nantes and Saint-Nazaire in Loire-Atlantique.
Duration: from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Lunch: lunch is not included. We invite you to bring your own meal. A refrigerator, a microwave, and a dining area will be at your disposal.

Our instructor, Anthony Hervy, is a master leather craftsman and works with passion and respect for traditions. He will be attentive to your needs and can answer all your questions.

Program:

• Creation of a simple carving using basic techniques.
  Assessment of your entry level into training by creating a simple design of your choice (approx. 1h)
   - Design transfer
   - Swivel cutting
   - Outlining with Bevelers
   - Shading work
   - Embossing
   - Background work with "Backgrounder" tools
• Learning carving techniques (approx. 3h)
  - Precision in the use of different tools, taking into account observations during the evaluation phase
  - Learning the Basketweave technique
  - Learning the Basketweave technique without a matting tool
  - Learning the dye blocker technique (pore filler)
• Creation of a valet tray using the techniques studied previously (approx. 3h)
  - Application of techniques
  - Coloring with dye or patina
  - Application of a protective finish
  - Use of Tokonole to wax the flesh side of the leather

We offer a standard training program, but the instructor will adapt to the trainees' requests.

- If you add the "paper catalog" (free) to your order in the cart, shipping costs will be charged. We advise you to wait until the day of the training to discover it.
- If the number of participants is insufficient, DECO CUIR reserves the right to cancel the training.
- Any cancellation reported no later than three weeks before the workshop will not result in any refund unless another trainee takes the available spot.
