WORKSHOP TO MAKE A LEATHER TOTE BAG

Learn how to make a split leather shopping bag with an experienced seamstress.

Intermediate level : to follow this training you must have good mastery of your sewing machine (family or semi-professional) . Please note: you will need to bring your sewing machine on the day of the training. If you do not have a sewing machine, do not hesitate to contact us to find out if machine rental is possible (15€/person) .

Price: €125 which includes learning and materials for making a shopping bag.
Place : in the premises of our physical store in Campbon (44) located between Nantes and Saint-Nazaire in Loire-Atlantique.
Duration: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Number of participants: 4 people maximum
If you are a group of 4, you can contact us for a private workshop.

Materials and tools provided by Deco Cuir:
- Double-sided adhesive tape
- Cutter, rotary cutter, scissors...
- Sewing clips
- Rules and squares

- 1 actual size pattern
- 1 spool of polyester thread No. 30
- 1 split leather skin (Several colors to choose from: taupe, anthracite gray and chocolate brown).

1 metal zipper of 14 cm
- 1 pair of leather bag handles
- 8 T3 double-cap rivets and installation tool/set

Dimensions of the bag: Height: 36 cm - Length: 35 cm - Width: 14.5 cm

On the program: Pattern making, cutting and assembly of the shopping bag with the sewing machine.

What you will need to bring:
- Your lunch: a fridge and a microwave will be available (as well as a catering area).
- A fabric lining:
choose cotton. To choose your lining, use the 2 colors of bags shown in the images: taupe, chocolate brown or anthracite gray. Lining dimensions : 140 or 120 cm width x 90 cm.
- Your sewing machine: we advise you to carry out tests beforehand on scraps of leather to see how your machine reacts. Do not hesitate to consult our blog article on “How to sew leather by machine?” => Click on the “Learn more” button below the description. You cannot sew leather with a cheap family machine (e.g. Silvercrest) .
You then need to equip yourself at least with a Teflon presser foot (ref. CA149) and leather machine needles n°100/110 (on sale on our site - ref. CA136_N100 ).

During training, Deco Cuir will not be held responsible for the “non-functioning” of the machine or any damage.

Our trainer, Lucie, is an experienced seamstress for a subcontractor of a major leather goods brand. Today, textile designer and fashion accessories in fabrics or leather. She will give you all the advice for sewing leather with a good family machine and will answer all your questions.

    Our store remains accessible during training.

    Note : If you add the “paper catalog” (free) to your order in the basket, you will be asked for shipping costs. We advise you to wait until the day of the training to find out.

    If the number of participants is insufficient, DECO CUIR reserves the right to cancel the training.
    Any withdrawal reported at the latest three weeks before the course will not give rise to any refund unless another trainee takes up the place left available.
