LEATHER TOTE BAG WORKSHOP
Learn to make a split leather tote bag with an experienced seamstress.
Intermediate level: To attend this workshop, you must have a good command of your sewing machine (household or semi-professional). Please note: you will need to bring your sewing machine on the day of the workshop. If you don't have a sewing machine, please contact us to inquire about machine rental availability (€15/person).
Price: €125, which includes instruction and materials for making one tote bag.
Location: at our physical store in Campbon (44), located between Nantes and Saint-Nazaire in Loire-Atlantique.
Duration: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Materials and tools provided by Deco Cuir:
- Double-sided adhesive tape
- Cutter, rotary cutter, scissors...
- Sewing clips
- Rulers and set squares
- 1 full-size pattern
- 1 spool of #30 polyester thread
- 1 split leather hide (Several colors to choose from: taupe and chocolate brown).
- 1 x 14 cm metal zipper
- 1 pair of leather bag handles
- 8 T3 double-cap rivets and setting tool/kit
Bag dimensions: Height: 36 cm - Length: 35 cm - Width: 14.5 cm
Program includes: Pattern making, cutting, and assembling the tote bag with a sewing machine.
What you will need to bring:
- Your lunch: a refrigerator and microwave will be available (as well as a dining area).
- A fabric lining: preferably cotton. To choose your lining, refer to the 2 bag colors offered in the images: taupe, chocolate brown, or anthracite grey. Lining dimensions: 140 or 120 cm width x 90 cm.
- Your sewing machine: we advise you to test it beforehand on leather scraps to see how your machine reacts. Feel free to consult our guide on "How to sew leather with a machine?".
You cannot sew leather with an entry-level household machine (e.g., Silvercrest).
You will also need to equip yourself with at least a Teflon presser foot (ref. CA149) and machine needles for leather #100/110 (for sale on our website - ref. CA136_N100).
During the workshop, Deco Cuir will not be held responsible for any "malfunction" of the machine or any damage.
Our instructor, Lucie, is a professional seamstress with experience working for a subcontractor of a major leather goods brand. Today, she is a textile and fashion accessory designer using fabric or leather. She will give you all the advice for sewing leather with a good household machine and will answer all your questions.
For one day, learn to make a leather tote bag and take it home with you!
A little extra: The Deco Cuir store is accessible during the workshop. A 15% discount is offered on all your in-store purchases on the day of the workshop: take advantage of it to leave with all the materials you need.

- If you add the "paper catalog" (free) to your order in the cart, shipping fees will be charged. We advise you to wait until the day of the workshop to discover it.
- If the number of participants is insufficient, DECO CUIR reserves the right to cancel the workshop.
- Any cancellation reported no later than three weeks before the workshop will not result in a refund unless another trainee takes the available spot.
