HOW TO MARK LEATHER?
You can mark the leather using punching stamps. Leather marking is only possible on vegetable-tanned leather because, unlike mineral-tanned leather (chrome), it will be possible to moisten it.
Vegetable-tanned leather needs to be moistened with water before you can work with it. As you wet the leather, the fibers swell and soften, allowing you to stamp (mat) it. The leather is moistened by rubbing a damp sponge on its grain. Be sure your hands are clean. Apply water (using a damp sponge) as regularly as possible, but in small quantities. The leather should be damp but not soaked.

EXAMPLES OF MARKING ON VEGETABLE TANNED LEATHER:
USE OF 3D MATERIALS:
Unlike handle stamps, 3D stamps are larger and more detailed. For stamps with a lot of detail, do not hesitate to strike very hard and on a marble.
Caution: never hit the stamps with a metal hammer as this could damage the tools.
USING A HOT PRESS TO MARK LEATHER!
The heat press allows you to make text markings or foil transfers on many types of leather (mineral and vegetable tanning).
