As a leather wholesaler, Deco Cuir offers a vast stock of leathers from calf, cowhide, lamb, sheep, pig, goat, and deer. Imagine the remarkable items you can craft with our high-quality leathers, available in various shades and finishes. 50% of our leathers come directly from tanneries/leather manufacturers, and 50% are destocked from major leather goods brands.
Bovine and Ovine Leather
Deco Cuir offers many pieces of calf and cowhide leather, as well as lamb and sheepskins. All leathers for sale are in stock on our website.
Cowhide Leather
Because it is very durable, cowhide leather is chosen for creating frequently used items such as bags, belts, boots, or biker jackets. Relatively thick, it develops an authentic patina over the years. Full-grain cowhide leather has a unique natural grain.
Calf Leather
The grain of calf leather is tighter than that of cowhide, making its texture smooth. Calf leather is particularly supple and durable. As it is also lightweight and soft, it is prized in luxury leather goods.
Lamb Leather
Naturally breathable, lamb leather is one of the softest available. Lightweight, it is characterized by a smooth, soft, and silky surface. Thinner than cow or sheep leather, it is more susceptible to wear. Lamb leather is sought after for its elegant visual appeal. It is notably used in the design of high-end clothing and accessories.
Sheep Leather
Compared to lamb leather, sheep leather is thicker, with a rougher surface. It is more resistant to wear and is perfectly suited for clothing, leather goods, and glove making. Sheared sheepskins are chosen for winter clothing or shoes. The wool can be smooth or curly, colored or natural.
Skiver is a full-grain sheep leather with vegetable tanning. Soft and pleasant to the touch, this rot-proof and durable material is often used in upholstery, especially for creating club chairs.
Pig, Deer, and Goat Leather
For your creations, you can also choose pig, deer, or goat leather.
Pig Leather
It is distinguished by a porous texture, which is caused by the thickness and density of pig bristles. Its surface is therefore irregular and breathable. Even though its fibers are finer than those of cows, they are thick and intertwined. This gives pig leather good durability and high wear resistance. Its suppleness is an asset for creating leather goods. It is used to make handbags and travel bags. It is appreciated for making jackets and thick coats.
Deer Leather
Very soft and flexible, deer leather adapts to movements and shapes. Its breathability makes it a suitable material for making clothing and shoes. With good resistance, it is a strong and durable leather, perfect for creating handbags and accessories.
Goat Leather
Softer than cowhide and thicker than lamb, goat leather is also more flexible. Lightweight and breathable, it is durable and wear-resistant. As it withstands rain, this leather is recommended for outdoor products (jackets, boots). It is commonly used for fashion accessories, clothing, luggage, and seating. Goatskin with a shagreen finish is prized for bookbinding work.
