WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS OF THESE PRODUCTS?
First, it's important to know that RTC and Pro-Resist are products that have the same functions and the same application method. Only the brand differs, with Bee Natural Leather Care for the former and Fiebing's for the latter.
These products have 3 main functions:
- Pore-filling function before coloring: prevents a dye or patina from impregnating untextured areas of worked leather.
- Selective use of pore filler (especially to block dye and isolate a carved design).
- Protective function after coloring or on natural leather.
HOW TO APPLY RTC OR PRO RESIST TO LEATHER?
We recommend applying the product with a piece of sheepskin (short pile) to avoid small marks left by bubbles.
HOW TO BLOCK A DESIGN BEFORE DYEING?
Simply apply RTC or Pro-Resist to the design you want to block using a brush (to be as precise as possible). Drying time is approximately 1 hour. The product can be applied to an already dyed design or to natural leather.

CAN RTC BE USED ON ACRYLIC PAINT?
RTC or Pro-Resist can also be used to block a design with acrylic paint.
1. Apply acrylic paint to the design: apply 1 or 2 coats.

DOES THIS WORK WITH WHITE PAINT?
Good news! This also works with white acrylic paint. However, we recommend waiting at least 2-3 hours after applying RTC or Pro-Resist before dyeing your leather (the pores must be thoroughly filled).
