The necessary equipment
To complete this tutorial, you will need:
- 1 piece of SATINLYS leather - CAPPUCCINO - 15 x 20 cm - 1.2 mm
- 1 piece of ARIZONA grained cowhide leather - HAZELNUT - 15 x 20 cm - 1 mm
- 1 box of 8m of MeiSi super fine waxed linen thread M60 - 0.65 mm - COFFEE
- 1 set of 25 saddle needles - Round tip - Lg=57mm - d=1.1mm - Size 1/0
- 1 slice finish - Colorcut - 30ml - Chocolate
- OPTION: 1 strip of CHOCOLATE plant collar - 20x1 cm - Thickness 1.9 mm
- 1 cutter
- 1 cookie cutter of 1 to 1.5 mm
- 1 abrasive sponge
- OPTION: 1 set of alphabet stamps
1. Cut the leatherDownload and print the pattern in full size. Place the pieces on the piece of leather and hold them in place using masking tape. Cut the leather with a cutter and make the sewing holes 1.5 mm in diameter with a punch cutter. |
2. Work the slicesWork the top edges of piece No. 2 (blue part in the diagram). Start by sanding the edges with sandpaper then apply edge stain. Put several coats if necessary, sand between each coat. |
3. Make a labelOPTION: Create a personalized label. Cut rectangle N°3 in vegetable tanned leather. Work the slices of the rectangle. Then come and hit the alphabet stamps to write a message. Sew the label in the place provided on part N°2. |
4. Sew the card holderSew the two pieces of leather together. To start, cut a thread equivalent to 5 times the length of the sewing line. Then, come and thread a needle at each end of the thread. Sew by passing each needle through each hole. |
5. Work the slicesWork the remaining slices (in blue on the diagram). Sand with sandpaper, then apply edge stain. Apply several coats of stain if necessary, sanding between each coat. |
Well done, you're done!All you have to do is slide your cards in. |
