Which zipper to choose?
Discover our 4 types of zippers for all your leather creations: bag, pouch, clothing, cushion…
1- The non-separable zipper with metal stop.
Available in spiral version: nylon chain in width 4 or 6 mm.
It also exists in metal chain (small chain 5 mm - large chain 8 mm) and in several finishes.
Also available in plastic chain (6 mm chain).
Usage: for pouches, bags, pants, skirts, leather goods, and upholstery.
2- The separable zipper (which opens - both sides are detachable): for easy opening of your leather creations.
Nylon, metal, or plastic chain from 4 to 8 mm.
Usage: for jackets, sportswear, blousons, camping, upholstery, boating, and outerwear.
3- The invisible zipper: the spiral is hidden under the tape, making the zipper almost imperceptible. Nylon chain 4 mm.
Usage: for skirts, dresses, and pants.
4- The double slider zipper (separable zipper with 2 sliders): practical for leather goods creations for opening your bags from both sides (it is possible to reverse the opening direction). Metal chain 8 mm.
Usage: for bags and upholstery.

We advise you to favor synthetic chains for "outdoor" use. They will be more resistant to rain, for example, than metal chains.
What zipper size to choose?
Most of our zippers are available in various colors and sizes (lengths). If a zipper is too long, you can always shorten it by cutting it, then sewing the end to stop the slider*. It should be noted that the length of the zipper indicated on the item descriptions corresponds to the length of the chain only - the usable length (and not including the excess fabric).
*Before cutting the zipper, we advise you to sew a bar tack by hand with a strong thread and needle or with a sewing machine using a zigzag stitch: make several passes to have a strong bar tack and cut the zipper approximately 1 cm from the bar tack.
Choosing your zipper
The choice of zipper is mainly based on the use and the aesthetic you want to give your creation.
How to change the opening direction of a double slider zipper?
Switch from an "X" opening to an "O" opening (zipper that opens in the middle). Please note that the zipper will no longer be separable.

How to create or customize a leather pull tab for a zipper?
Do you want to personalize your zipper slider with a first name, a word, or even your brand name? Here's a short tutorial to guide you through personalizing your leather pull tab using alphabet stamps.
To make this DIY, you will need:
- 1 zipper without a pull tab
- 1 10 mm round ring
- 1 T1 rivet
- 1 10 mm collar strap
- 2 pliers
- 1 2 mm hole punch
- 1 set of alphabet stamps
- water and a sponge
| Open the round ring using pliers. | Pass the ring through the slider. | Then, close the ring with pliers. |

| Cut 8 cm from the 10 mm collar strap. | Fold the strap in half and make a 2 mm hole. | To personalize the pull tab, dampen the leather. |

La mention Z19 est une référence utilisée par la marque officielle Fermeture Éclair®, cela signifie que c’est une fermeture à glissière séparable et en laiton.

Pour votre paire de chaps nous vous conseillons de choisir une fermeture à glissière en NYLON ou PLASTIQUE. Vous aurez le choix entre une fermeture séparable ou non-séparable en fonction du résultat que vous souhaitez avoir. Je vous invite à choisir une fermeture éclair avec une longueur utile d’au moins 35 cm. Voici les liens des articles :

bjr je trouve un soucie avc des fermetures éclair pour les bottes des cavaliers équitation les fermeture émail plastique sa résiste pas les fermeture d’origine est très différent , dans l’ile , avez vous de quoi me conseillé et me satisfaire attention le produit que vous vendez N°1 ce que je propose à mes clients
longueur maxi 50cm avc ou sans arrêt de finition car 3 cm qui est collé entre la semelle de montage et propreté merci de me répondre
