Which zipper to choose?
Discover our 4 types of “zipper” closures for all your leather creations: bags, pencil cases, clothing, cushions… 
1- The non-separable “zipper” with metal stop.
Available in spiral version: nylon mesh in 4 or 6 mm width.
It also exists in metal mesh (small mesh 5 mm - large mesh 8 mm) and in several finishes.
Also available in plastic mesh (6 mm mesh).
Use: for kits, pouches, pants, skirts, leather goods and furnishings.
2- The separable zipper (which opens – both sides are detachable.): for easy opening of your leather creations.
Nylon, metal, or plastic mesh from 4 to 8 mm.
Use: for jackets, sportswear, jackets, camping, furniture, boating and outerwear.
3- The invisible “zipper” closure: the spiral is hidden under the ribbon which makes the closure almost imperceptible. 4mm nylon mesh.
Use: for skirts, dresses and pants.
4- The double-slider zipper (separable 2-slider closure): practical for leather goods creations for opening your bags from both sides (it is possible to reverse the opening direction). 8mm metal mesh.
Use: for bags and furniture.

We advise you to choose synthetic mesh for “outdoor” use. They will resist more, to rain for example, than metal mesh.
What size zipper should I choose?
Most of our zippers come in a variety of colors and sizes (lengths). If a zipper is too long, you can always shorten it by cutting it, then sewing the end to block the slider*. You should know that the closure length indicated on the item sheets corresponds to the length of the mesh only - the useful length (and not with excess fabric) .
*Before cutting the closure we advise you to sew a bartack by hand with a thread and a strong needle or on the sewing machine with a zigzag stitch: make several passes to have a solid bartack and cut the closure approximately 1 cm from the stopping point.

The choice of zipper is mainly based on the use and aesthetics you want to give to your creation.
How to change the opening direction of the double slider zipper?
Go from an “X” opening to an “O” opening (zipper that opens in the middle). Please note the zipper will no longer be separable.

To make this DIY, you will need:
- 1 zipper without puller
- 1 round ring of 10 mm
- 1 T1 rivet
- 1 collar strap of 10 mm
- 2 pliers
- 1 cookie cutter of 2 mm
- 1 set of alphabet stamps
- water and a sponge
