CHINESE SPOOL - GLAZED CABLED THREAD

Glazed cabled linen thread is a high-end, very strong thread. It is a natural thread that allows for the creation of traditional and authentic products while offering incomparable aesthetics and very high strength.

Cabled thread is a ply that is assembled a second time from several strands and then twisted "wet". This moistening prevents the linen fibers from being damaged. Cabling increases strength and results in a very round thread, generally used for luxury leather goods.
This linen thread is glazed, meaning it has been passed through a starch bath with added beeswax. It then underwent horsehair brushing and stretching. These operations result in a smooth, strong thread that has stiffness, good glide for easier sewing, and good drape.
