Angelus is THE go-to brand for all sneaker customizers. This paint can also be used on leather goods, to create a complete original design or to add small touches of vibrant color that are difficult to achieve with traditional dyes.
If the paints are stored correctly in a place at room temperature, they can be kept for up to 3 years.
Angelus is an American brand based in Los Angeles. It is recognized as the best leather paint brand in the world. Angelus paint is very resistant to cracking, thanks in particular to the presence of silicone in its composition.

How much paint for which surface area?
To give you an idea, 29.5 ml (1 oz) of paint is enough for about two pairs of shoes. 118 ml (4 oz) of paint is enough for a car seat or a small leather armchair.
First step: Preparing the shoe

Before customizing your pair of sneakers, you need to prepare them to receive the first coats of paint, and for that you need to clean them (even if they are new).
To clean your pair, we recommend using Easy Cleaner soap (sold individually or in a kit). Using the brush and soap, thoroughly clean your shoes. Then, take the microfiber towel and polish your shoes to make them shine. |

After thoroughly cleaning your leather sneakers, you now need to apply Angelus Deglazer . This product is essential because it allows the paint to adhere properly to the surface and last over time. This product also serves to degrease the leather effectively. Apply the deglazer to the entire area you wish to paint. Ensure that the Angelus primer and stripper is allowed to dry for at least 24 hours before painting. |
Second step: Preparing and applying the paint
Now it's time to prepare the paint that will be applied to your pair of shoes. Angelus paint is the most renowned paint for customizing sneakers and leather accessories because its unique elastic texture provides excellent resistance to cracking.
It is possible to mix several paints to create the color you want . The neutral paint 'WZ720_004' can be used to lighten a color.
It is also possible to mix the paint with various additives:
- Thinner ( Angelus 2-Thin ): for use with airbrush paint.
- The Duller additive: which reduces the gloss of the paint.
Application of paint to leather shoes:
- Take a brush and apply the paint, taking care to apply very thin coats to avoid cracking the paint when drying and creating clumps.
- We also have refillable markers for outlining, details and touch-ups.
- Allow the paint to dry thoroughly between coats (between 10 and 25 minutes) and for the final coat, allow 24 hours to dry.
- Before applying the 2nd coat, thoroughly clean the brush to remove all the paint; we recommend Angelus brush cleaner to effectively clean your brushes.
- Repeat the steps and apply a maximum of 3 to 4 coats for a good quality result.

There are several ranges of Angelus paint for different effects: standard, pearlescent, neon, metallic and glitter.
Third step: Applying the finish
After applying Angelus paint, it is recommended to apply an Angelus topcoat to make the paint more resistant and to give an extra touch to your customization.
Angelus finishes each give your paintwork a different look, ranging from matte to high gloss . Apply thin coats to dry paint using a small brush. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next, and apply a maximum of 2 to 3 coats depending on the product used.
After applying the last coat, let your pair of shoes or leather accessory rest for 24 hours.
We offer two types of finishes: "standard" (Acrylic) and "reinforced" (4-Coat). For each of these finishes, we have four gloss levels for Angelus paint.
Angelus paint is a good choice for painting leather; it's highly pigmented with a high-quality acrylic resin that provides excellent color coverage. The addition of silicone makes it flexible and prevents it from cracking over time. Furthermore, an anti-mold agent has been added to preserve the color for a long time.
The paint also penetrates the leather very well, but the color is less vibrant than what you can achieve with alcohol-based paints; however, the advantage is that it will give a fairly natural color. Since the paint is water-based, the drying time is a bit longer than with alcohol-based paints.
