Note: The dye is ideal for dyeing a light color to a darker shade, but it should not be used for lightening.

The color chart is for reference only. A preliminary test on a leather scrap is recommended to confirm the shade.

Instructions for use:
1. Prepare the leather by wiping it with a leather preparer using our applicators, cotton balls, or a cloth.
2. Wait a few minutes for the leather to dry. Wipe it with a microfiber towel to remove any lint.
3. Using wool applicators (one is provided with each dye), soak the applicator with dye.
4. Pay attention to the surface you are dyeing. For a large area, use an applicator well-saturated with dye. For a small area, a brush or a smaller amount of dye on the applicator may be necessary.
5. Be sure to soak the item to be dyed thoroughly. The dye penetrates the fabric. It is not like paint. Feel free to soak the item and rub evenly to achieve a uniform color.
6. Let dry. A tint, bronzed effect, or other finish may appear. Don't panic! These are simply dye residues on the surface.
7. (Optional) Wipe with a microfiber cloth to remove excess pigment. If there are still reflections or a tint, dampen the cloth with alcohol and wipe quickly. Do not let the alcohol sit, as you risk discoloring the fabric. Once this is done, the tint should disappear, and only the original color will appear.
8. If you wish to dye the item more of the color, repeat steps 5 to 7.
9. To protect and nourish the leather, we recommend using Angelus Leather Balm or Angelus Neutral Shoe Polish. If you prefer a more natural finish, light polishing is sufficient. If you have dyed the item black or brown, we recommend using a colored shoe polish or a luster cream.

What is the difference between Angelus paint and dye?
Angelus leather paint is a layer of color that remains on the surface of the leather.
Angelus leather dye penetrates deep into the leather for a permanent color that does not rub off with use. The final color depends on the base color of the leather.
