DELLA BLACK STRETCHED GIRTH STRAPS – HIGH-PERFORMANCE SADDLERY LEATHER

DELLA black stretched girth straps are made from a third of full-grain, uncorrected butt with a smooth grain. Unlike vegetable-tanned leathers, they undergo mineral chromium tanning, which gives the edges a naturally bluish tint, a sign of quality leather and controlled tanning. This tanning is a key step that provides increased resistance and predictable tensile behavior.

In addition, a transparent aniline finish preserves the authentic appearance of the grain. A suet bath (paraffin + beef fat) deeply nourishes the leather, making it waterproof, easy to work with, and requiring no regular maintenance.

FOR PROFESSIONAL SADDLERY USE
These girth straps are designed for the manufacture and restoration of equestrian saddles (dressage, training, racing). Their very low elongation rate – less than 6% after 1,000 cycles at 75kg – and their breaking strength of over 360kg (for a width of 25mm) make them ideal for intensive use.
Their structure allows for homogeneous distribution of tension, offering comfort to both horse and rider.

SELF-MAINTAINING LEATHER
Thanks to its suet bath nourishment, this leather requires no regular maintenance. The fat naturally rises to the surface to nourish the leather and give it a beautiful patina. If a whitish film appears (thermal shock), simply rub lightly to restore the leather to its original appearance.

GUARANTEED ORIGIN AND TRACEABILITY
The leathers come from cattle raised in France, Germany, Spain, or Italy, selected for the quality of their hide. Traceability is ensured at every stage (reception, tanning, finishing) via internal marking at the Radermecker tannery.
