REQUIRED MATERIALS
To complete this tutorial, you will need:
- 1 vegetable-tanned leather strap - LONDON FAWN - Thickness 1.9mm - Width 2 cm - Length 30 cm
- 1 collar button with ring - For 10mm strap
- 1 round keychain ring - NICKEL PLATED - 18 mm
- 1 CHICAGO screw - Diameter 9mm - Center distance 5mm - NICKEL PLATED
- 2 screws 3x7 mm - Nickel plated
- 1 edge finish - Colorcut - 30ml
And the following tools:
- 1 ROUND punching tool with STRAIGHT handle - diameter 4 mm
- 1 mallet
- 1 screwdriver
- 1 abrasive sponge
- 1 silver pencil
- 1 cutter

1. CUT THE LEATHER USING THE PATTERN
Cut the 30 cm leather strap into 2 strips of 15 and 11 cm in length.

Download, print and cut out the pattern, then mark the position of the holes and notches on the leather with a silver pencil.

With a cutter, cut the notches on the 15 cm strip. Then, round off the corners of the 11 cm strip.


2. PUNCH THE HOLES
Using a 4 mm punching tool and a mallet: punch the holes in the leather.

CUSTOMIZATION
You can personalize your keyring by engraving messages on the vegetable-tanned leather.

3. EDGE FINISHING
Finish the leather edges: apply at least 2 coats of edge finish (color of your choice) and sand between each coat.

4. ATTACH THE SCREW
Attach the Chicago screw with a 3x7 mm screw and tighten with a screwdriver.


5. ATTACH THE COLLAR BUTTON
Attach the collar button with ring using a 3x7 mm screw and tighten with a screwdriver.

6. ATTACH THE RING
Attach the keyring to the collar button.

7. FORM THE KEYRING
Gently pull on the sides of the leather to work it and gain stability.
