Description

PRE-STRETCHED LEATHER FOR STIRRUPS

This chocolate leather is made from pre-stretched BOYOMA croupon leather from the Radermecker tannery. Boyoma saddle leather is an unpressed, uncorrected, smooth grain, double-tanned full-grain leather (vegetable re-tanned with mineral). This robust leather has a high resistance to elongation which makes it ideal for making stirrup leathers and horse saddle girths. This leather is nourished to the core in a tallow bath which is a historic know-how of the Radermecker tannery.

This leather is a “tannery choice”, meaning that the skins have been carefully selected and therefore have very few defects. As a reminder, leather without defects does not exist. Vegetable tanned leather is a quality leather that does not hide the animal's traces of life and develops a patina over time. With this type of leather, you must carefully arrange the templates for your creations before cutting.

Characteristic of pre-stretched Boyoma leather:
Boyoma saddle leather is the leather for horse stirrup leathers and saddle girths. It is a double tanned leather: vegetable retanned with mineral which is reworked wet and positioned on frames (which leaves traces at the end of the leather - see photo).
Under the effect of tension, it minimizes its elasticity, its elongation and increases the absorption of direct forces without altering its tensile strength.
This leather benefits from an aniline finish which retains the natural appearance of the leather. The aniline finish consists of the application of a light, thin transparent layer without altering the texture of the leather.

It is fed to the heart in a tallow bath (mixture of paraffin and beef fat), more commonly called "tallow leather". This food in a fat bath allows for easier cutting and working as well as greater water resistance. Tallow allows for maintenance-free leather since the grease is constantly applied to the surface of the leather, giving it the necessary nourishment and an excellent patina.
Thanks to this nourishment, Boyoma saddle leather has advanced resistance in outdoor use, it will reject any external disturbance (water / saline environment / animal perspiration). This saddle leather is therefore suitable for intensive use such as for the equestrian sector.

Pre-stretched Boyoma Leather Care Tips:

This leather is suitable for anyone who does not take the time to maintain their leather. It can live without maintenance, you can also nourish the leather having a film of dust. Thanks to the tallow bath food, the fat is impregnated throughout the thickness of the stretched Boyoma saddle leather, so there is no need for food over time. Food can be applied to the flower to ensure its oily appearance or accelerate the patina of the leather. This care of the flower ensures a longer lifespan. Our Boyoma saddle leather will resist humidity. Just let them dry at room temperature for it to regain its appearance. Due to its food in a tallow bath (fat), on temperature shocks, a whitish film of rising paraffin can form. Just rub it to make it disappear.
