Originating in Japan, the Kiridashi knife, from the Haiku brand, was the tool of choice for artisans. It gradually became popular in everyday life, for DIY projects, creative hobbies, and more. Featuring a short, very sharp blade, this versatile, handy, and lightweight knife is ideal for all precision cutting tasks and leather skiving.
The blade adopts the precision codes of Honesuki knives for a cut as clean and precise as a scalpel. The blade is ground with a chisel bevel (beveled on one side only). It is designed for right-handed users.
The steel with 0.8 - 0.9% carbon gives the blade exceptional hardness, meaning it rarely needs sharpening.
The oblong handle is made of wild cherry wood from the forests near Seki in Japan (the birthplace of Haiku). Stained and treated to be water-resistant, this soft wood offers a pleasant and natural grip. The knife comes with a wooden protective sheath for the blade.
