This neck leather comes from the Radermecker tannery. The natural Pykara neck is a full-grain saddle leather that is unpressed and uncorrected, with a smooth grain and flesh side. This leather is processed in a drum with liquid oil emulsion to perfectly nourish the leather without leaving a greasy feel. This natural leather is ideal for tooling work and can also be used for hot stamping and hammering. Due to its structure, cutting and sewing operations are pleasant.

This leather is a "tannery selection," meaning the hides have been carefully selected and therefore have very few defects. As a reminder, flawless leather does not exist. Vegetable-tanned leather is a quality material that does not hide the animal's life marks and develops a patina over time. With this type of leather, you should carefully position your pattern templates before cutting.

Thickness options: 1.8mm, 2.3mm, 2.8mm, or 3.3mm
As leather is a natural material, its thickness is not homogeneous across the entire surface of the hide. The indicated thickness is an average, calculated from thicknesses measured over the entire hide. Depending on the areas of the hide, the actual thickness may therefore vary by plus or minus 0.3 mm from the indicated thickness.

For a surface area of less than 1m², you will be supplied with half or a quarter of a neck.
For a surface area greater than 1m², you will be supplied with a neck.

Characteristics of the natural Pykara neck:
The natural Pykara neck is nourished with oil emulsion. This involves liquid oil nourishment added to our tanning drums. Being undyed, the natural Pykara neck can be stained, and edges can be finished with edge dye.
The natural Pykara neck can be used for all leather goods, small leather goods, and cutlery items: belts, wallets, cardholders, keychains, bags, satchels, pouches, bracelets, watch straps, desk mats, knife sheaths, dog and cat collars...
It can also be used in furniture, such as for the creation or restoration of seats for chairs or armchairs using rigid, thick leather, for covering desk surfaces, or for covering dressing room doors.

Care instructions for the natural Pykara neck:
Work the nourishment in thoroughly on both the grain and flesh sides. Once damp, you can let the leather dry at room temperature. This will stiffen it, which is actually the ideal process for molding or tooling.
