Glazed corded linen thread is a high-end, very resistant thread. It is a natural thread that allows for the creation of traditional and authentic products while offering incomparable aesthetic appeal and great strength.
Corded thread is a twisted thread that is assembled a second time in several strands then twisted "wet". This moistening ensures that the linen fibers are not altered. Cording increases resistance and produces a very round thread, generally used for luxury leather goods.
This linen thread is glazed, which means it has been passed through a starch bath to which beeswax has been added. It then underwent horsehair brushing and stretching. These operations result in a smooth and resistant thread that has rigidity, good glide to facilitate sewing, and good drape.
