THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT
- 1 piece of vegetable tanned croupon leather - 15 x 20 cm / 1.5 mm
- 1 star eyelet kit and installation tools / 4 mm
- 1 meter of flat leather lace - NATURAL - 4 mm or a scrap of leather to make the pompom
- 1 jar of Tokonole
- Contact glue for leather
- An abrasive sponge and square blade
- Some thread
- 1 cutter
- A Ø 1 mm cookie cutter (for hand sewing)
- 2 round-tipped saddle needles (for hand sewing)
1) CUT YOUR PIECES
Cut 4 pieces of 15x5 cm from your 15x20cm piece of leather.

2) ASSEMBLE THE ELEMENTS
Laminate 2 pieces of leather together with leather contact glue.

3) GLUE THE LEATHER PIECES
Download the pattern and print it in full size. Tape the pattern to your piece of leather using masking tape.

4) HOLE THE PIECE
Drill the different holes: the 4mm hole for the eyelet and the 1mm holes for hand stitching.

5) USE A CUTTER
Cut the leather with a cutter following the lines of the pattern.

6) TAKE CARE OF THE SLICES
Option: work the edges of your piece of leather. Sand the edges with an abrasive sponge, then flatten the edges of your leather.

7) SMOOTH THE SLICES
Apply Tokonole to the edge of the leather then rub with a smoothener or cloth.

8) CONNECT THE PIECES
Sew the piece all around either with a sewing machine or by hand. For hand sewing, do not hesitate to consult our guide (on the last page of the pattern).

9) PUT THE EYELET
Place the 4mm eyelet into the hole provided.

10) CUSTOMIZE THE BOOKMARK
Thread a shoelace or pompom through the eyelet hole. Finally, you can make an alphabet marking on your bookmark.
