Description
BASKETWEAVE STAMP - LEATHER EMBOSSING
OKA is a Japanese manufacturer passionate about leatherwork . It makes high quality tools, pleasant to use and suitable for beginners and experienced users alike.Basketweave handle stamps get their name from the pattern created which resembles a woven basket (see example in photo 5). They allow you to quickly reproduce the same pattern in order to give a material effect and avoid keeping a large smooth surface. Their use also allows you to camouflage defects in the leather. The relief formed by the compression of the material strengthens the leather and makes your creations less sensitive to scratches. They come in many patterns, each of which can have several widths. You can use them straight or oblique with different results.
① Pattern dimensions: Width: 12.3 mm - Height: 6.8 mm
② Stamp reference X514
③ Length of the stamp: 100 mm
④ Grip length: 60mm
Handle diameter: 8 mm
The 6th photo shows a pattern on a 4 cm square.
Basketweave handle stamps are made of heavy duty zinc alloy. The handles are knurled for a good grip.
They are used with a "Maul" type mallet made of nylon, polymer, leather or wood.
Do not use a steel hammer.
