Basketweave stamps transform large smooth surfaces into textured surfaces, while concealing any imperfections in the leather. The relief formed by material compression also strengthens the leather and makes it more scratch-resistant.

Usage tips :
- Use natural vegetable-tanned leather of at least 2.5 mm thickness.
- Dampen the leather before stamping. To facilitate your carving work, you can use a leather preparation such as Easy-Carve or Pro-Carve.
- Use a marble slab as a striking surface to avoid rebound and achieve a clean and deep impression on the leather.
- Use a mallet or maul made of nylon, leather polymer, or sufficiently heavy wood (do not use a steel hammer).
- It is possible to use these stamps on mineral-tanned leather by heating the brass stamp. Handle the tool with protective gloves to avoid any risk of burns.
