Two assembly methods:

Either with a setting tool for T28 rivets, such as model ref. 8110-00:
- Make a 3 mm diameter hole in your pieces to be assembled. Pass the rivet through the inside of your pieces. Thread the washer, then tighten it with the setting tool. Cut off the excess with pliers, leaving about 2 mm of material. Start the heading process using the concave part of the setting tool. Finish the assembly by heading the shank onto the washer with a hammer.
- The heading operation must be carried out on a firm work surface; you can use an Ertalon plate to protect your support and the rivet head.

Either with the 3960-00 manual press and a setting die set for T28 rivets (ref. 3984_00):
- Using a round punch, make a 3 mm hole in your leather
- Insert part L onto the lower part of the press.
- Insert part U-1 onto the upper part of the press. Place the rivet head on part L, thread the leather, then the washer. Press the lever of the press to tighten the rivet with the washer.
- Using cutting pliers, cut the excess shank, leaving about 2 mm.
- Insert part U-2 in place of part U-1. Press the lever of the press to head the shank onto the washer.
