White bone tool, slightly curved
This tool is sometimes called a bone folder .
The smoothing knife, with one pointed end and the other rounded, has a thinned but non-cutting edge which is used to lightly trace the skin on the flesh side to facilitate the edging, to fold down the edging after gluing and lifting, to push back the corners of the seams when assembling upside down, to avoid bubbles when gluing and to properly apply skin, fabric, paper in the sheathing....
