L'Utile's significant advantage over a pen applicator lies in its retention capacity: a single dye load covers several tens of centimeters with consistently even application. What's more, the edge finish is perfectly applied; it doesn't run onto the leather.

Using L'Utile is very simple: just dip its tip into the edge finishing pot. The finish then gradually spreads onto the edge of the leather, without excess.
The side screw adjusts the tip's opening according to the viscosity of your edge finish: open it for thicker products like edge paint and tighten it for more fluid edge dyes.
Prior tests on a leather scrap are recommended to find the optimal setting.
