This aluminum applicator is made in France and is highly praised by major leather goods manufacturers. It is a high-end tool that is used like a pen applicator. Very precise and lightweight, it is designed for professionals who work in series and for whom quality of finish is not an option, but a requirement.

The significant advantage of L'Utile compared to a pen applicator lies in its retention capacity: a single charge of dye covers several tens of centimeters with a consistently even application. Furthermore, the edge finish is perfectly applied; it does not bleed onto the leather.

Using L'Utile is very simple: just dip its tip into the edge finishing pot. The finish then gradually spreads onto the edge of the leather, without excess.
The side screw adjusts the tip's opening according to the viscosity of your edge finish: open it for thicker products like edge paint and tighten it for more fluid edge dyes.
Prior tests on a leather scrap are recommended to find the optimal setting.
