Leather Stitching Claw - Reverse Stitch
This " INVERTED " precision striking awl allows you to make, with a single blow of the mallet, several diagonal holes for a regular saddle stitch.
These pricking point claws allow you to mark the location of your stitches .
The " reverse " claw stitch is symmetrical to the "standard" stitch . This stitch is generally used for double-lap stitching or for joining pieces that have been sewn with a professional sewing machine.
Sold individually, choose the claw that suits you, with 2 or 5 teeth, as well as the desired center distance.

Leather Decor Information :
- Claws with a "reversed" stitch are often called "left-handed claws": this is a misnomer; there are no claws specifically for left-handed or right-handed people. As a reminder: there is no specific orientation for holding the claw; the stitch is the same on both sides.
- The higher the number on the label, the closer the stitches will be and the tighter the stitching.

What center-to-center distance should I choose for my design ?
The center distance is the distance between two points: it should be chosen according to the item you wish to create (aesthetic choice).
The different combinations of center distance / wire diameter give different aesthetic results: the choice is yours!
Table provided for illustrative purposes only :
| leather item | Total thickness of the leather | Center distance | Wire diameter |
| Short article (e.g., bookbinding, small leather goods) | Max. 2.5 mm | 2.5 to 3.38 mm | 0.30 to 0.53 mm |
| Medium article (e.g., leather goods) | Max. 4 mm | 3.38 to 3.85 mm | 0.54 to 0.70 mm |
