COUTURE LEATHER PRICKING IRON - REVERSE STITCH
This precision "REVERSE" pricking iron allows you to make several diagonal holes with a single mallet strike for a regular saddle stitch.
These pricking irons allow you to mark the placement of your stitches.
The "reverse" stitch of these irons is symmetrical to the "standard" stitch. This stitch is generally used for double stitching or for making a seam on an item that has been sewn with a professional sewing machine.
Sold individually, choose the pricking iron that suits you, with 2 or 5 teeth, as well as the desired spacing.

Deco Cuir Information:
- Pricking irons with a "reverse" point are often incorrectly called "left-handed irons": there are no specific irons for left-handed or right-handed users. As a reminder: there is no direction for holding the iron, the point is the same on both sides.
- The higher the iron number, the closer the stitches will be and the tighter the seam.

Which spacing should I choose for my creation?
The spacing is the distance between two points: it should be chosen according to the item you wish to create (aesthetic choice).
Different combinations of spacing / thread diameter result in different aesthetic outcomes: it's up to you to choose!
Indicative table:
| Leather item | Total leather thickness | Spacing | Thread diameter |
| Small item (e.g. bookbinding, small leather goods) | Max. 2.5 mm | 2.5 to 3.38 mm | 0.30 to 0.53 mm |
| Medium item (e.g. leather goods) | Max. 4 mm | 3.38 to 3.85 mm | 0.54 to 0.70 mm |
| Large item (e.g. upholstery, saddlery, luggage) | Max. 7 mm | 4 to 6.75 mm | 0.76 to 1.30 mm |
