STRIKING PRONG 1 TOOTH
Deco Cuir offers you this precise striking prong - 1 tooth, also known as a pricking iron. Striking prongs are used to mark points on leather to achieve beautiful, regular stitching.
With a mallet strike, you mark a hole in the leather for your stitching. You can also completely pierce thin leathers, but you should limit this use to soft leathers up to 1.5 mm thick. Trying to pierce thicker leathers risks damaging the prongs.
Ideal for leather goods - saddle stitching.
Usage tips:
- Use a self-healing mat or an ERTALON plate as a cutting surface.
- Your prong should be perfectly vertical when you strike.
- Strike with a wooden or polymer mallet. Do not use a steel hammer.
1-tooth striking prong with a width of 1.5mm.
Total tool length: 9.5 cm
Hardened steel blade.
