DIAMOND POINT LEATHER COUTURE PRICKING IRON - REVERSE STITCHES
This reverse pricking iron marks the stitch spacing on leather for beautiful, regular saddle stitches. The mark created is diamond-shaped (diamond point).
The stitch is "reversed", symmetrical to the "standard" stitch. This stitch is generally used for double stitching or for joining on a creation that has been sewn with a professional sewing machine.
Each stitch is 1.4 mm wide, and the spacing between each stitch is 3 mm. Ideal for small leather goods.

Tool Dimensions:
| Number of teeth | Total blade width |
Handle diameter |
| 2 | 5.2 mm | 6 mm |
| 4 | 11.3 mm | 6 mm |
| 6 | 17.5 mm | 8 mm |
Length: 110 mm
Blade thickness: 1.4 mm
Usage tips:
- Use a self-healing mat or an ERTALON plate as a cutting surface.
- Your pricking iron must be perfectly vertical when striking.
- Strike with a wooden or polymer mallet; it should be heavy enough for precise and less tiring cutting. Do not use a steel hammer. With one strike of the mallet, you mark several holes in the leather to make your stitches. You can also completely pierce thin leathers (max. 1mm).
- When marking thick leathers, do not hesitate to apply a thin layer of beeswax to the teeth to facilitate gliding and avoid damaging the pricking iron.
Hardened steel blade.
Very high wear resistance.

Which spacing to choose for my creation?
The spacing is the distance between two stitches: it should be chosen according to the item you wish to create (aesthetic choice).
Different spacing/thread diameter combinations give different aesthetic results: it's up to you to choose!
Table for indicative purposes
| Leather Item | Total Leather Thickness | Spacing | Thread Diameter |
| Small item (e.g., bookbinding, small leather goods) | Max. 2.5 mm | 2.5 to 3.38 mm | 0.30 to 0.53 mm |
| Medium item (e.g., leather goods) | Max. 4 mm | 3.38 to 3.85 mm | 0.54 to 0.70 mm |
| Large item (e.g., furniture, saddlery, luggage) | Max. 7 mm | 4 to 6.75 mm | 0.76 to 1.30 mm |
