Large leather STROP for sharpening tools - 8x50cm - Deco Cuir

LEATHER STROP MADE IN FRANCE

This large strop will allow you to maintain the "leather" sharpening of all your cutting tools, from knives to razors, to achieve a perfectly sharp blade.

On the wooden board, one side is covered with vegetable-tanned leather, thickness: 2.5 mm minimum, grain side for wiping the blade.
The other side is covered with suede/flesh side leather (color may vary depending on arrivals) for applying polishing paste to hone your blade (maintain the blade edge).

The paste should be applied to the leather piece (flesh side) previously oiled with sharpening oil, by rubbing the stick vigorously.
Then, pass the blade over the leather alternately front and back, following the cutting edge to progressively hone the steel of the blade.

Tip: for initial sharpening, start with wet sandpaper (500 grit to begin and finish with 1000 grit).
