Description

FIEBING'S GUM TRAGACANTH

Fiebing's natural gum tragacanth smooths the edges of natural or colored vegetable-tanned leathers. In addition to waterproofing the edge, gum tragacanth will give a burnished look to the leather edges.

Instructions for use (see video):
- Shake the bottle well before use
- Apply Fiebing's Gum Tragacanth in a thin layer to the edge using a brush or applicator swab. Wait a few moments, then vigorously rub the edge with a cloth or burnisher. The gum tragacanth dries and warms up due to the friction caused, and the edge will darken and shine.
- Repeat until desired smoothness is achieved
- Clean tools with soap and water

You can also use gum tragacanth on the flesh side of fuzzy leather to bond the fibers.

Tip: tint the gum tragacanth with water-based dye (see video).

What is the difference between gum tragacanth and gum arabic?
They are obtained by the same process but do not come from the same sap. Unlike gum tragacanth, gum arabic is water-soluble: this explains why the gum is much more liquid. Both gums are applied in the same way, but gum arabic gives a slightly darker result.

Color: Neutral
Non-hazardous product if inhaled (solvent-free).
