LEATHER CREASER

A creaser is the essential tool for working with natural vegetable-tanned leather.
This excellent creaser is made by Jérôme David in France. The wood essence used is French boxwood from PEFC-certified sustainable forests.

Boxwood was chosen by our ancestors to make this tool because it is one of the hardest woods and thus allows marking leather without wearing out. It will develop a patina over time and become your favorite tool.

Using the creaser allows you to mark a line on the edge of the leather, either for decoration or to create a line that then allows for a perfectly straight stitch.
Moreover, the small pushed-back groove helps guide the sewing thread. To sink the stitching to protect it from potential rubbing, it is recommended to use a groover which will remove material by digging a small furrow.

This boxwood tool has four notches that allow for four different creaser lines. Each creaser line has an identical thickness (approximately 1 mm), but it is the space between the edge of the leather and the line that changes. This tool allows for a line at 1.8 - 2.2 - 2.7 and 3.3 mm from the edge.
For decorative lines, you can make a double line by making one line at 1.8 mm and another at 2.7 mm.

Tool dimensions:
- Available in 2 lengths: 15 or 20 cm
- Width: 3 cm
- Maximum thickness: 2 cm
