Advanced Machine Sewing Workshop - Make Your Own Leather Travel Bag -Thursday 24 and Friday 25 September 2026

2-DAY LEATHER TRAVEL BAG WORKSHOP

Over these two days, learn how to make a leather travel bag and take it home with you! The training is provided by an experienced seamstress.

Advanced level: to follow this training, you must have a good command of the sewing machine (domestic or semi-professional). To make the travel bag, we recommend using a professional sewing machine, which will be available to you during the workshop.

Mandatory prerequisite for this training: having validated the intermediate level.

Price: €240 which includes the training, the materials for making a travel bag, and the rental of the sewing machine.
Location: at our physical store in Campbon (44) located between Nantes and Saint-Nazaire in Loire-Atlantique.
Duration: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Day 1) and 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Day 2)
Number of participants: 4 people maximum

Materials and tools provided by Deco Cuir:
- Professional sewing machine
- Double-sided, tear-resistant adhesive tape
- Cutter, rotary cutter, scissors...
- Sewing clips
- Rulers and squares
- 1 full-size pattern
- 1 spool of polyester thread N°30
- 1 bovine leather hide (leather selection according to our stock).
- 1 Texon plate
- 1 metal zipper 65 cm
- 2 m of cording
- 5 flat bag feet 14 mm
- 4 rectangular loops 30 mm
- T3 double cap rivets

Bag dimensions: Height: 25 cm - Length: 50 cm - Width: 25 cm

Program: Pattern making, cutting, and assembly of the travel bag using a sewing machine.

What you will need to bring:
- Your lunch: a refrigerator and a microwave will be available (as well as a dining area).
- A fabric lining: preferably cotton. Lining dimensions: 90 x 140 cm
- Cotton bias tape in the same color as the lining. Dimensions: 2 cm x 2 meters

Our trainer, Lucie, is a professional seamstress with experience at a subcontractor for a major leather goods brand. Today, she is a textile and fashion accessories designer in fabric or leather. She will give you all the tips for sewing leather with a good domestic machine and will answer all your questions.
