Description

BRAIDED EFFECT BAG CLASP

Bring a nautical touch to your leather creations with this braided rope-effect swivel clasp. This timeless maritime touch is ideal for making a handbag closure or a jewelry clasp, for example.

The two parts of the clasp fit into each other, closing is done by turning the button.

Material: Zamac
Finish: Aged Silver

Dimensions :
- Maximum dimensions of the closed clasp: 23 x 32 mm
- Maximum height (with button): 16 mm
- Length of the claws: 11 mm
- Maximum recommended leather thickness: 3 mm (if you have thinner leather, you will need to add reinforcement behind)

Clasp assembly :
We recommend watching the video to learn how to install a twist lock.
- For the top part (the one with the screws): Cut out a 9 x 12 mm oval shape. Using a punch, make two 5 mm holes on each side of the oval. Insert the two metal parts on either side of the leather and screw them together.
- For the lower part (the one with the button): Make two 3 mm notches in the leather for the metal tabs to pass through. Place the steel plate on the back of the leather and spread the metal tabs apart (as for a Parisian fastener) to hold the leather in place.

Don't hesitate to try it out on a piece of leather scrap to measure the cuts you need to make!
