Description

FILLETTE IRON WITH ADJUSTABLE GUIDE BETWEEN LEATHER EDGE AND FILLET

Add a groove, border, or other decorative lines to leather using this leathercraft creaser iron.
It has a guide to ensure the marking is perfectly parallel to the leather edge. This guide is adjustable with a knob to set the spacing between the leather edge and the line created. This allows you to mark a line up to 7 mm from the leather edge.

This tool has 2 possible uses depending on the tanning of your leather:
- Cold marking technique (for vegetable-tanned leather): in this case, the tool is used as a creaser.
- Hot marking technique (for mineral-tanned leather): first, you need to heat your blade on a gas burner; this operation should be repeated regularly as the blade cools.

Dimensions:
- 3 fillet widths to choose from (thickness of the line made on the leather): 0.5 mm, 1 mm, or 1.5 mm
- Max tool length: 170 mm

The wooden handle has a flat base so you can stand your tool upright when the blade is hot.

The appearance of the fillet on the leather depends on several parameters, such as the tool's temperature, the speed of passage over the leather, and the pressure exerted on the tool. It is recommended to test settings on scraps of the same leather before using it on your project.
