Description

COLLAR BUTTON PUNCH

Round punch with a notch for piercing the hole for a collar button.
With a single strike of a mallet, the resulting hole will allow you to securely fasten the button and easily open it thanks to the notch.

It is very practical for closing a bracelet, small leather goods, eyeglass cases, making belt holes or other creations. It can also be used to adjust the size of a strap (for this, make several holes to adjust the size).

Straight handle.
High-strength steel blade that can be sharpened.
The punch is equipped with a side hole for ejecting cuttings.

We recommend using an ERTALON cutting board for a clean cut and to avoid damaging the punch's edge.
Steel hammers are not recommended. Prefer a wooden or polymer mallet.

For the collar button to remain securely fastened, the hole diameter must be almost identical to the diameter of the collar button shank (the stem) and smaller than the ball diameter (example: a 4mm hole for a T4 collar button with a 3.8mm shank diameter and 6mm ball diameter). The thickness and flexibility of the leather must also be considered when choosing the hole diameter to ensure comfortable use. A preliminary test on a scrap piece is always recommended.
