To sharpen "leather" your cutting tools, your knife or your razor, get a blade with the perfect edge. To be used on a STROP: wooden tool made of vegetable-tanned leather on the grain side and on the split side.
The paste must be deposited on the previously oiled piece of leather (grain side) by rubbing the stick vigorously.Do not hesitate to heat the paste to be able to spread it more easily on the leather.
You must then pass the blade over the leather alternately front then back and respecting the edge of the cut to gradually sharpen the steel of the blade.
