Description
SMALL MARO DIAMOND-SHAPED AWL
Craftsman Jérôme David designed the Standard awls , which are simplified versions of the awls in the Excellence range.
The high-quality blade and wooden handle shape for which these awls are renowned remain unchanged. Only the titanium parts have been replaced with anodized aluminum ones.
The blade is made of high-performance cobalt steel and comes already perfectly sharpened.
Its 1.5 mm width allows you to sew small leather goods.
The ferrule is made of yellow anodized aluminum , its tip is fully polished and does not mark the leather, even if the blade is pushed all the way in.
The handle is available in 3 types of wood to choose from:
- Amourette from sustainable FSC-certified forests
- Hornbeam from PEFC-certified French forests
- Olive tree from sustainable FSC-certified forests
Dimensions - Small maroon awl :
- Total length: 108 mm
- Blade length: 17 mm
- Blade width: 1.5 mm
- Blade thickness: 0.9 mm
- For blade diameter: 1.5 mm
- Maximum handle diameter: 31 mm
The handle is ergonomic and will provide you with excellent comfort of use, it has a flat surface that will allow you to always pick up the awl in the same way, thus allowing you to have a regular cutting angle. You can choose the rotation of the blade in relation to the handle in order to obtain exactly the point you want by using the screw at the end of the handle (TORX screw no. 15).
In case of a problem, the diamond-shaped blade can be changed (sold as a spare part) and is removed using a small TORX No. 6 screw on the side.
