ALÊNE LOSANGE LEATHER GOODS

Please note, this is no ordinary awl; it demonstrates the intelligence and savoir-faire of a French artisan who has completely redesigned an ancient tool: the stitching awl.
While everyone thought this tool would no longer evolve, Jérôme David now offers you a very high-quality tool.

The awl is an extension of the hand; it must be pleasant to use to do quality work. Among all the saddler/leatherworker's tools, the awl is the one you will hold most often, so it is essential to equip yourself with a good tool.

By combining aesthetics, ergonomics, precious materials, and high technology, Jérôme David has invented the awl we've all dreamed of owning.

The blade is made of high-performance cobalt steel and comes already perfectly sharpened.
Its 2 mm width allows for stitching on leather goods.

The ferrule is made of titanium, its tip is entirely polished and does not mark the leather, even if the blade is pushed in all the way.

The handle is ergonomic and will provide excellent comfort of use. It features a flat section that allows you to grip the awl consistently, ensuring a regular cutting angle.

You can adjust the blade's rotation relative to the handle to achieve the exact point you desire by using the screw at the end of the handle (TORX screw N°15).

The blade is very sharp and comes pre-sharpened, which is a significant time-saver as this operation is often tedious. You will only need to maintain the blade's sharpness by occasionally stropping it on leather.
The blade's shape has been perfectly designed to penetrate leather like butter, but also to withdraw without that slight sticking point characteristic of ordinary awls.

Several handle options :
- Ceylon Lemonwood
- Cocobolo
- Gabon Ebony
- Jamaican Ebony
- Pink Ivory
- Tricolor, composed of 3 precious woods from 3 continents: Gabon ebony (Africa), French Jura boxwood (Europe), and snakewood (America). Woods react differently to changes in temperature and humidity, which is why you may feel a slight demarcation between the woods.
- Blue, made of high-density stabilized multi-layered wood.

The wood comes from FSC-certified sustainable forests.

Deco Cuir offers two options :
- The stitching awl alone
- The stitching awl in a kit with a microsphere blade in stainless steel, a screwdriver for easy blade changes, and a metal storage box to keep everything organized and protected. The rounded tip of the microsphere blade prevents snagging the sewing thread, an essential tool for enlarging a hole or re-passing the thread of a seam without damaging it. Easily switch from a stitching awl to a round awl by changing blades with the included screwdriver.

Dimensions - Leather goods awl :
- Total length: 110 mm
- Blade length: 19 mm
- Blade width: 2 mm
- Blade thickness: 1.1 mm
- Max handle diameter: 30 mm

In case of a problem, the diamond-shaped blade can be changed (sold as a spare part) and is removed with a small TORX N°6 screw on the side.
