SANDING PAPER AND CARBON PLATES SET - EDGE SANDING
This set contains 4 carbon plates, 10 self-adhesive sandpaper sheets for each of the 4 grits (180, 400, 800, and 1200), and 4 sheets of self-adhesive labels to identify the grit size.
These high-quality small abrasive papers are ideal for easy and precise sanding of your leather edges.
Made of carbon, the plate is hard-wearing and has the advantage of being both very rigid and lightweight.
| Grit | Recommended Use (for reference) |
| 180 | Scratch the leather to prepare it for edge finish adhesion or finishing gum |
| 400 | Remove cutting marks |
| 800 | Intermediate sanding of edge finish between coats |
| 1200 | Ultra-smooth finish |
Instructions for use :
- For first-time use: peel off the protective paper from the sandpaper sheet and stick it onto a carbon plate. To help you identify the grit of your sandpaper, stick the label indicating the grit number on the other side of the carbon plate (see video).
We recommend using a carbon plate dedicated to each grit.
- Use dry. The lower the grit number, the coarser the grit and therefore the more abrasive it is. For best results, we advise starting with a coarse grit, then progressively refining your work with a finer grit.
- When the sandpaper sheet is worn out, remove it from the carbon plate and stick on a new one. The adhesive leaves no residue to keep the carbon plate perfectly smooth!
