SET OF 10 ABRASIVE SHEETS WITH 1 CARBON PLATE - EDGE SANDING
Each set contains 1 carbon plate, 10 self-adhesive sandpaper sheets, and 1 sheet of self-adhesive labels to identify the grit size.
These small, high-quality abrasive papers are ideally sized for easy and precise sanding of your leather edges.
Made of carbon, the plate is wear-resistant and has the advantage of being both very rigid and lightweight.
Choose the grit that best suits the finish you want to achieve:
| Grit | Recommended use |
| 180 | Scratch the leather to prepare it for edge finish adhesion or finishing gum |
| 280 | Rough preparation of the edges |
| 400 | Remove cutting marks |
| 600 | Refine sanding to remove cutting marks |
| 800 | Intermediate sanding of edge finish between coats |
| 1000 | Precise sanding of edge finish between coats |
| 1200 | Ultra-smooth finish |
| 1500 | Professional quality finish |
The uses indicated above are for guidance only and depend on the leather used. This is why a wide range of grits is available to allow you to choose the one that best suits your leather.
Usage tips:
- For first use: peel off the protective paper from the sandpaper sheet and stick it onto a carbon plate. To help you identify the grit of your sandpaper, stick the label indicating the grit number on the other side of the carbon plate (see video).
We recommend using a dedicated carbon plate for each grit.
- Use dry. The lower the grit number, the coarser the grit, and therefore the more abrasive it is. For best results, we advise you to start with a coarse grit, then progressively refine your work with a finer grit.
- When the sandpaper sheet is worn out, remove it from the carbon plate and stick on a new one. The adhesive leaves no residue to keep the carbon plate surface perfectly smooth!
