Leather is unforgiving of approximations. Unlike fabric, it's not possible to unpick your piece without leaving a mark.

The sewing pattern indicates the exact dimensions of each piece, determines seam allowances or hole placements for simplified sewing, indicates the placement of accessories to attach... The provided instructions guide you through assembling your leather creation. All this information ensures consistent assembly without calculations or guesswork.

PDF, paper, or commercial license patterns: which format to choose?

Some patterns designed by Deco Cuir are available in several versions to suit all uses.

• The paper pattern is delivered to your home, already printed at actual size (1:1 scale). All you have to do is cut it out to trace it onto your leather. Ideal if you don't have a printer or if you want to be sure to have the pattern at the correct scale. This version is for personal use only.
• The PDF pattern in A4 format allows you to download the file immediately after confirming your purchase and print it yourself, in one or more copies as needed. You will receive an email to access the file. This version is for personal use only.
• The PDF version with a commercial license is intended for artisans and creators who wish to produce leather bags from this pattern for sale. It includes the right to reproduce the model for commercial purposes, without quantity or duration restrictions. With this option, it is not necessary to mention the Deco Cuir brand on your creations. This is a particularly relevant option for leather goods makers looking to expand their collection without dedicating time to developing new models.

Which pattern designer to choose?

Deco Cuir patterns come with step-by-step assembly instructions, illustrated with many photos. Depending on the models, you will have the choice between the paper version (delivered to your home printed at actual size), the PDF version (to print yourself in A4 format) and the PDF version with a commercial license (to sell your creations legally).

Tandy Leather patterns are American models provided in actual size paper versions. Measurements are usually given in inches with instructions in English.
