The strap cutter is a tool (usually made of wood) widely used in leatherworking for cutting straps, especially in large pieces of leather (collar or half-collar). Practical for making your own belts or bag straps.
WHAT LEATHER CAN THE STRAP CUTTER BE USED ON?
The strap cutter is primarily used to cut strips from thick leather (maximum 6 mm thick). We recommend choosing firm leather (collar or butt, for example) because soft leather tends to stretch.
Before starting to cut with the strip cutter, we recommend that you make a cut (be careful on the right side).

HOW TO USE A STRAP CUTTER?
With its graduated ruler and cutter blade, this wooden tool will allow you to cut strips with a width between 3 mm and 10 cm. We recommend using clamps or a "third hand" to hold the strip securely while cutting.

WHAT TO DO WHEN THE BLADE IS WORN?
Please note that you must remember to change the blade regularly to ensure a consistently clean cut (we offer replacement blades for each type of strap cutter).
